Dr Salwan Al-Salihi

Dr Salwan Al-Salihi is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a passion for Urogynaecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery. He has acquired extensive knowledge and expertise in his field, making him a respected figure in the medical community.

After obtaining his initial degree in Medicine and Surgery overseas, Dr Al-Salihi pursued his career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, working in various locations around the world. He completed his general training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in both New Zealand and Australia, and later received formal training in Urogynaecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Melbourne's prestigious Royal Women's Hospital.

Currently, Dr Al-Salihi serves as the Head of the Urogynaecology Unit at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Parkville, making significant contributions to the field. He also runs a successful private practice at Frances Perry House, where he offers a comprehensive range of services such as Urogynaecology, Urodynamic testing, general Gynaecology, and colposcopy.

Dr Al-Salihi's expertise lies in performing laparoscopic, robotic, and minimal access surgery in pelvic reconstruction and Urogynaecology surgeries. With a special interest in Urogynecology, he has developed a particular focus on tackling issues related to urinary incontinence. He is dedicated to assisting patients with pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence, providing them with the highest level of care and treatment.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Al-Salihi remains actively involved in clinical research and innovative developments within his field. He is the Co-chair for the Pelvic floor committee of the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society (AGES), where he collaborates with other esteemed professionals to advance knowledge and improve patient outcomes. He consistently presents his research papers at national and international conventions, sharing his expertise and contributing to the continuous progression of the field.

Dr Al-Salihi's commitment to his profession extends beyond his own practice.
