Dr Leesha Nesarajah

Dr. Leesha Nesarajah is an experienced and compassionate Obstetrician and Gynaecologist committed to providing the highest quality care to her patients. With over 10 years of clinical experience, she currently holds a public appointment at the Royal Hospital for Women and is a consultant obstetrician at Frances Perry House.

After completing her Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Newcastle in 2008, Dr. Nesarajah was introduced to obstetrics and gynaecology during her residency at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. She then pursued her obstetric training in Victoria at Peninsula Health and the Mercy Hospital for Women and conducted her fellowship at The Royal Women's Hospital in Parkville. She is a proud Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG).

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Nesarajah is an enthusiastic clinical educator, with a special interest in training medical students and trainee doctors. As such, she continues to play an active role in the mentorship program at Royal Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Nesarajah's clinical expertise includes managing complex, high-risk pregnancies of various gestations, pre-pregnancy counselling, recurrent miscarriages, and family planning. She advocates for a compassionate, empowering, and holistic approach to patient care. As a specialist obstetrician and mother of two, she understands that pregnancy is an exhilarating yet vulnerable journey, and strives to create a safe and supportive environment for her patients.

Dr. Nesarajah shares her clinic room with Professor Mark Umstad on Level 2, Suite 5 at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne. She is fluent in English and Malay.
