Dr Ryan Livingston

Dr Ryan Livingston is an accomplished specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Queensland, Australia. He completed his medical studies in 2003 at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospital, UK, and was awarded a scholarship from the Tallow Chandler & Joint Academic Research Board, which enabled him to undertake research in tissue engineering. Dr Livingston later earned a research degree and thesis from the Centre for Cell Biology and Cutaneous Research in London, graduating with First Class Honours.

Following his plastic and reconstructive surgery training in Queensland, Dr Livingston was awarded Fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). He is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the Australasian Society of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), and the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, UK (RCSEd). As a founding senior medical officer at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital Plastic Surgery Department, he played a key role in its development and evolution and continues to work on expanding its services.

Dr Livingston is also passionate about educating and supporting aspiring medical professionals. He holds academic appointments at the University of Queensland and Griffith University and was nominated for the University of Queensland's Clinical Educator of the Year award. He has presented extensively and won prizes at academic and plastic surgery conferences and has published numerous papers in Australian and British journals. He is dedicated to enhancing patient safety through the development of hospital auditing tools and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and patient care.

As a highly skilled and experienced surgeon, Dr Livingston specialises in breast, head & neck, skin cancer, and reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery. He has advanced microvascular training from centers in London and Germany and is committed to keeping up to date with the latest advancements in his field. Dr Livingston has a natural rapport with his patients and works closely with them to achieve optimal outcomes in a professional and caring manner. He is a man of high ethics and values and participates in various medical and non-medical charity works. When he's not practicing medicine, Dr Livingston enjoys spending time with his family on the Sunshine Coast, watching sports, and fishing.
