Dr Phil Lockie

Dr Phil Lockie is a highly acclaimed surgeon who completed his training in Ireland and the UK. His exceptional surgical skills have been acknowledged with The Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland Gold Medal at the Intercollegiate examination in General Surgery. After completing an oesophageal fellowship in Belfast, Dr Lockie moved to Australia where he continued to gain invaluable experience in surgery. He spent a year as the Upper GI Fellow at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney and another year as the Tyco Laparoscopic Fellow in Canberra. He is now based in Brisbane where he founded the Brisbane Institute of Obesity Surgery, or BIOS.

Dr Lockie is renowned for his expertise in Laparoscopic Incisional Hernia Repair and Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair. He is a member of the European Hernia Society and has a keen interest in robotic laparoscopic hernia repair.
