Dr Parth Shah is an esteemed Ophthalmologist with extensive expertise in paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, and cataract surgery. He currently practices in Parramatta, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Dr Shah completed his training at both the Prince of Wales Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick. He furthered his subspecialty training through two advanced fellowships, specialising in paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, and complex cataract surgery. During his career, he gained valuable experience working in notable institutions such as the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Gloucestershire Hospitals, and Oxford University Hospitals in the UK. Additionally, he had the privilege of training under the guidance of esteemed ophthalmologist Professor Ken Nischal at the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in the United States.
Throughout his career, Dr Shah has demonstrated his dedication to advancing medical knowledge and patient care. He has received several awards and scholarships for his contributions and has published extensively in peer-reviewed literature. Moreover, he has been invited to deliver lectures at international ophthalmology meetings. Dr Shah is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and holds memberships in various international ophthalmic societies, including the World Society of Paediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Passionate about medical education, Dr Shah has actively engaged in teaching medical students, optometrists, and ophthalmology registrars throughout his career. He currently consults and performs surgeries at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick and The Sutherland Hospital. Dr Shah is also proud to serve as a Clinical Lecturer at The University of Sydney and contribute to the university's Optics curriculum.
Aside from his professional accomplishments, Dr Shah is fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati, enhancing his ability to effectively communicate with patients from diverse backgrounds.
