Prof Mark McGuire

Professor Mark McGuire is a highly distinguished cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist based in Newtown, Sydney, Australia. With over three decades of experience in the field, he has established himself as a leading expert in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, particularly through catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation.

Prof. McGuire obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree with first-class honors from the University of NSW in 1982. He further pursued advanced training at renowned medical institutions, including St Vincent's Hospital, Westmead Hospital, and the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands. His academic pursuits led him to earn a PhD from the University of Sydney.

Additionally, he is a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Sydney and chairman of cardiovascular medicine at the Mater Hospital, reflecting his dedication to advancing medical education and mentoring future healthcare professionals.
