Dr Julian Dodemaide

Dr Julian Dodemaide is a highly qualified psychiatrist with extensive experience in the field. He graduated from the University of Queensland and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and NZ College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). With a Certificate of Advanced Training in Forensic Psychiatry, Dr Dodemaide is an accredited member of the Faculties of Forensic Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, and Adult Psychiatry with the RANZCP. He is also an Associate Member of the Australasian College of Legal Medicine.

Dr Dodemaide has worked in various clinical settings, including forensic psychiatry services such as High Security Inpatient Service and Prison Mental Health Service in Queensland, Canberra Forensic Mental Health Services, Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital, and Ramsay Clinic New Farm. His experience ranges from assessing and rehabilitating complex patients to applying forensic risk assessment tools, writing medico-legal reports, and providing expert evidence in court.

His special interests include medico-legal expert evidence, psychotic and mood disorders, violence risk assessment, neurostimulation technologies, PTSD, and military veterans. Dr Dodemaide is dedicated to providing high-quality medico-legal reports that support GPs in shared patient care. He is currently accepting referrals for all forms of medico-legal reports and '291' assessment reports to assist GPs in patient management. However, he is not accepting new patients for ongoing psychiatric management.

Dr Dodemaide is an accredited member of the RANZCP and is experienced in working with a wide range of age groups and populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, doctors, psychiatrists or medical students, gender diverse individuals, gay and lesbian individuals, those with intellectual disabilities, military and veterans, people with physical disabilities, and emergency services personnel.
