Dr Velimir Kovacevic

Dr. Velimir Kovacevic is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with expertise in General and Forensic Psychiatry. He has worked extensively in providing psychiatric treatment and management to individuals suffering from a range of mental health disorders, including psychotic, mood, trauma-related, and anxiety disorders. Dr. Kovacevic also has extensive experience in providing medico-legal psychiatric evaluations, criminal and civil report writing, and expert Court evidence, and has worked for some of the largest independent medical examination providers in Australia.

Dr. Kovacevic has worked in various clinical settings, including high and medium security inpatient settings, community and rehabilitation services, and provided general psychiatric care for mentally ill individuals in custody. He has also served as Clinical Director of the Court Liaison Service – Metro North Mental Health, where he advised and assisted general mental health services in the treatment and management of patients with complex mental health needs and forensic issues.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kovacevic is a dedicated academic and has served as a Clinical Lecturer and psychiatric course examiner. He has published numerous papers in top-tier psychiatric journals and presented at national and international conferences. He is also a part-time medical member of the Queensland Mental Health Review Tribunal.
