Dr Jennifer Harvey

Dr Jennifer Harvey is a highly experienced radiation oncologist based in Greenslopes, Brisbane, Australia. With over 20 years of experience, she specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and upper and lower gastrointestinal cancers. Dr Harvey is well-known for her research contributions in these areas.

Dr Harvey obtained a Bachelor of Science in Medical Biochemistry in South Africa and worked in a research laboratory before pursuing her medical degree. In 1987, she graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). She then underwent specialist training in Brisbane and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) in 1995.

Currently, Dr Harvey practices at the Icon Cancer Centre Greenslopes as well as the Princess Alexandra and Mater Hospitals, where she holds a senior staff specialist position. In addition, she plays a key role in teaching medical students and registrars and has been a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland since 1997.

Dr Harvey actively participates in multidisciplinary meetings, working closely with pathologists, radiologists, surgeons, and medical oncologists to ensure individualized and optimized patient care. She is also involved in clinical research and serves on the trial management committees of numerous international and national research trials. Dr Harvey offers patients the opportunity to participate in available clinical trials as part of their treatment.

Furthermore, Dr Harvey is committed to her own professional development and education. She regularly attends workshops and conferences focused on survivorship, breast cancer, and upper and lower gastrointestinal cancer treatment both in Australia and internationally.
