Dr Hans Lombard

Dr. Hans Lombard is an orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in hand, shoulder, and upper limb conditions. With extensive experience in his field, Dr. Lombard is dedicated to providing high-quality care to patients on the Sunshine Coast. His expertise lies in treating a range of conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, with the ultimate goal of helping his patients regain an active lifestyle.

Dr. Lombard offers state-of-the-art treatments, including keyhole surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome, finger joint replacements for hand, thumb, and finger arthritis, and collagenase injections for Dupuytren's disease. When it comes to injuries, he is skilled in addressing fractures of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, as well as acute workcover injuries. To ensure the safest and most comfortable experience for his patients, Dr. Lombard often performs procedures under sedation, in combination with local or regional anesthesia.

Collaboration is a core value for Dr. Lombard, and he works closely with Sunshine Coast Hand Therapy to provide comprehensive post-operative rehabilitation for hand and wrist surgery. Dr. Lombard obtained his medical education in South Africa and went on to become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2009. He completed his fellowship in Upper Limb Surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in 2010. Since 2011, Dr. Lombard has been serving the Sunshine Coast community, delivering exceptional care to his patients.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Lombard is an amateur athlete and understands the importance of recovering swiftly from injuries that arise from an active lifestyle. He enjoys participating in cycling activities, including mountain biking and road cycling on the region's outstanding tracks and roads.
