Dr Gavin Nimon

Dr Gavin Nimon is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 21 years of experience. He obtained his MBBS degree from the University of Adelaide in 1990 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1998. Dr Nimon also holds a Fellowship from the College of Surgeons Edinburgh, which he earned in 2003. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide.

Dr Nimon has a special interest in the treatment of Shoulder and Upper limb injuries and conditions. He is highly skilled in procedures such as shoulder stabilisation, cuff repair, and arthroscopic labral repair. He also specializes in the management of conditions like Dupuytren's contracture, De Quervains, carpal tunnel release under local anaesthetic, trigger finger release, and sports injuries, including those involving the knees.

Throughout his career, Dr Nimon has been recognized for his contributions to the field of orthopaedics. He was awarded the Bauze Prize for the best paper by the South Australian Orthopaedic Society in 1994 and has presented at prestigious conferences such as the British Orthopaedic Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

As an educator, Dr Nimon is the Director of training for the Australian Orthopaedic Association and has previously served as the Secretary of the Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia. This demonstrates his commitment to advancing orthopaedic knowledge and training future generations of surgeons.

Dr Nimon sees patients at various locations, including Glenelg Rooms, Mill House Medical Centre, Middleton, Mt Compass Medical Centre, and Seaford Day Surgery.
