Dr Tim Greenwell is an experienced ophthalmologist based in Bedford Park, Adelaide, South Australia. He is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient-centred care and possesses expertise in various areas of general ophthalmology, including cataract surgery, macular degeneration, diabetes, retinal conditions, uveitis (both in adults and children), pterygium surgery, glaucoma, and laser treatments.
Dr Greenwell completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide in 2008. He subsequently underwent rigorous specialist training in South Australia and obtained fellowship from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in 2018. Following the successful completion of his initial four-year training, Dr Greenwell undertook a 15-month subspecialty fellowship at Oxford University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Oxford, United Kingdom, focusing on uveitis and medical ophthalmology.
Beyond his regular ophthalmology practice, Dr Greenwell has been involved with Sight For All, a charitable organization based in Adelaide. Through this role, he has contributed to projects aimed at training eye doctors and reducing the prevalence of eye diseases among Indigenous Australians as well as in developing countries. Additionally, Dr Greenwell has authored several research papers and maintains a keen interest in the education and training of medical professionals at various stages of their careers.
