Dr Edmund Gomez

Dr. Ed Gomez is an accomplished obstetrician, gynaecologist and laparoscopic surgeon based in Western Sydney. Alongside his private practice in Blacktown, Dr. Gomez also works in public and private hospitals throughout the Western Sydney area.

After completing his medical degree at the University of Queensland, Dr. Gomez trained and worked in Queensland and New South Wales. He completed his obstetrics/gynaecology Diploma in 2012 and gained specialist training as a Senior Registrar at Blacktown Hospital, during which time he also undertook advanced training in Hysteroscopic and Laparoscopic Surgery, achieving his Fellowship in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

Dr. Gomez believes in the importance of placing his patients at the centre of all his services, providing a safe, welcoming environment where patients are comfortable communicating their needs. He works closely with his patients to create treatment plans tailored to their individual needs, ensuring that they are informed and confident in making informed decisions regarding their medical options.

As an active member of SWAPS (Sydney West Advanced Pelvic Surgery), an advocate of training and mentoring of junior doctors and a current training supervisor for RANZCOG Certificate of Women’s Health and DRANZCOG candidates at Blacktown Hospital, He dedicates his time to sharing his knowledge and experience.

Dr. Gomez is also a lecturer at Western Sydney University. He enjoys teaching and mentoring new doctors, as well as keeping up-to-date with the latest medical practices.

Outside work, he enjoys family time, running in his local park, discovering nature, and indulging in Western Sydney's fantastic cafes and restaurants. His clinical interests include all-risk obstetrics, minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, hysterectomy, colposcopy and management of abnormal cervical screening tests, and the management of heavy periods.
