Dr Dan Krishnan

Dan is an Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialist who completed his medical degree at The University of Queensland in 2011. Following his graduation, he spent a year completing his internship on the Sunshine Coast. He discovered his passion for Obstetrics and Gynaecology and accepted a registrar position at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women in Perth. He underwent further specialist training at St George Hospital with rotations at The Sutherland Hospital, Royal Hospital for Women, Bankstown and Lismore Base Hospitals.

Dan further honed his skills and spent two years pursuing a fellowship in complex pelvic surgery at the Sydney Minimally Invasive Gynaecology Surgery (SMIGS) unit. He now holds a staff specialist position at the Sutherland Hospital. He obtained his FRANZCOG before taking up a fellowship at Westmead Hospital where he concentrated on Gynaecological Oncology. Presently, Dan is a staff specialist at Liverpool Hospital. He leads Endogynaecology clinics and surgeries and works with the Gynaecological Oncology team at The Liverpool Cancer Therapy Centre, where he sees patients requiring minimally invasive risk-reduction surgery.

Born and raised in Penang, Northern Malaysia, Dan is a food lover and tries his best to balance it out with gym visits so he can enjoy culinary experiments. Medicine brought him to Brisbane, where he met his wife, Dr. Komal Kumar, a Developmental Paediatrician. On weekends, Dan enjoys brunching with his family of three in the inner west of Sydney where they currently reside.

Dan's special interests include Stage IV Endometriosis, complex pelvic surgery, and Colposcopy.
