Dr. Dylan Wynne is a highly skilled general and Interventional cardiologist based in Wahroonga, Sydney. He is a specialist in the diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of complex coronary and structural heart diseases. Dr. Wynne is one of the four Directors at Peninsula Cardiology Group, a well-established practice known for delivering exceptional clinical care to the Northern Beaches community for over thirty years.
Dr. Wynne completed his physician and general cardiology training in Sydney before pursuing a postdoctoral academic research fellowship at the prestigious Brompton Hospital in the UK. There, he had the opportunity to work under the guidance of Sir Magdi Yacoub, a pioneering heart surgeon. During this fellowship, Dr. Wynne focused on their developed minimally invasive technologies for structural heart diseases, including atrial appendage occlusion and correction of congenital cardiac lesions. He further honed his skills in performing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) for severe aortic stenosis by training with Dr. David Hildick-Smith, a top Interventional operator in Europe.
Dr. Wynne holds a PhD in cardiac molecular pharmacology from Imperial College, University of London. His research primarily focused on the pathophysiology of heart failure. While serving as a cardiac research fellow, he actively participated in enrolling and supervising the co-running of more than twenty international clinical trials. Currently, Dr. Wynne holds a Staff Specialist position at Westmead Public Hospital and is affiliated with the University of Sydney's Westmead Applied Research Centre (WARC), where he remains involved in cutting-edge developments in academic cardiology.
