Dr Dasantha Jayamanne

Dr Dasantha Jayamanne is a Radiation Oncologist based in Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. He completed his training in Radiation Oncology at the Crown Princess Mary Hospital in Westmead, followed by a fellowship in central nervous system and head and neck oncology at the Royal North Shore Hospital. With a Diploma in Palliative Medicine, Dr Jayamanne has a particular interest in symptom control and patient-centred medicine.

Dr Jayamanne's main area of expertise lies in the treatment of central nervous system, head and neck, and lung malignancies. He actively participates in several multidisciplinary team meetings at the Royal North Shore Hospital, where he collaborates with other specialists to provide comprehensive and integrated care.

As a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney, Dr Jayamanne is deeply involved in academic pursuits. He has published articles in medical journals, presented at national and international conferences, and plays an active role in educating and mentoring medical students. Moreover, he serves as an investigator on various international and national clinical trials, aiming to offer innovative treatment options to his patients whenever possible.

In his capacity as a Director of Training at Royal North Shore Hospital, Dr Jayamanne contributes to the advancement of radiation oncology by nurturing the next generation of specialists. He also demonstrates a keen interest in clinical research, currently pursuing a PhD in primary brain tumors. Furthermore, his expertise extends to lung cancer tracking and Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SBRT).
