Mr Andrew Weber

Mr. Andrew Weber is an Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Melbourne, specializing in shoulder, knee, and elbow surgery. He obtained his medical degree, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science, from the University of Melbourne in 1988. Mr. Weber is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and holds a Diploma of Anatomy.

With a focus on sports injury and joint replacement surgery, Mr. Weber has trained at renowned hospitals in Melbourne such as Royal Melbourne, Dandenong, Western, St. Vincents, Hobart, Royal Children's, Austin, and Monash. He further enhanced his expertise through fellowships in Virginia, USA; Wrightington, UK; Innsbruck, Austria; Zurich, Switzerland; and Ilizarov surgery in Lecco, Italy.

Throughout his career, Mr. Weber has conducted extensive research, leading to publications and presentations both nationally and internationally. He has received awards for his studies on risk factors in idiopathic adhesive capsulitis, arthroscopic cuff repair, polyethylene and modularity issues in knee replacements, lateral release in knee replacements, sub-acromial surgery in inflammatory arthropathy, and the thickness of tibial inserts in total knee arthroplasty.

Upon returning to Australia, Mr. Weber took on a public appointment at Frankston Hospital and served on the Victorian Tasmania Regional Training Committee for the Australian Orthopaedic Association, including two years as secretary and two years as Chairman. He also represented Victoria and Tasmania on the Federal Training Committee.

Mr. Weber's areas of expertise include instability and bone graft procedures in shoulder surgery, rotator cuff disease and arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, as well as anatomical and reverse shoulder replacements. In knee surgery, he specializes in arthroscopic procedures, ACL reconstruction, and knee replacements. For the elbow, Mr. Weber is well-versed in arthroscopic surgery, elbow replacement, and management of instability.
