Dr Andrew Strokon

Dr Andrew Strokon is an Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Leichhardt, Sydney. He specializes in a range of surgeries, including hip, foot, knee, and ankle procedures. With a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Sydney University, Dr Strokon has also earned several prestigious qualifications. These include being a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

Having completed fellowships in Spinal Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson, USA, Dr Strokon has gained extensive experience in his field. He is particularly interested in sports injuries, foot and ankle injuries and reconstruction, hip and knee replacements, ligamentous reconstructions, as well as general orthopaedics.

Throughout his career, Dr Strokon has contributed to the development of innovative surgical techniques and precision tools. Notably, he has developed a surgical technique for ankle ligament reconstruction, specifically designed for elite athletes, defense personnel, and sports enthusiasts. He has also pioneered the percutaneous fixation of clavicular fractures. Additionally, Dr Strokon has performed various other procedures, including arthroscopic shoulder operations, hip replacements (both anterior and posterior approaches), knee replacements, and knee ligament surgery.

With a wealth of experience in teaching hospitals, both public and private, Dr Strokon has also served as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Australian Defence Forces.
