Dr Michael Bryant is an experienced neurosurgeon specializing in the treatment of brain and spine conditions. With over 20 years of experience, Dr Bryant obtained his undergraduate medical training at the University of Queensland in 1997, followed by advanced training in neurosurgery at the Royal Brisbane and Royal Adelaide Hospitals. In 2005, he conducted pioneering research in animal brain tumor modeling at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research. After completing his Fellowship exams in 2008, Dr Bryant pursued a combined Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic Fellowship at the Flinders Medical Centre and Royal Adelaide Hospitals. This allowed him to gain expertise in the treatment of a wide range of spinal conditions, including trauma and degenerative spinal conditions. In 2009, he established the first dedicated Neurosurgical Spinal Fracture Clinic in Brisbane, and successfully gained acceptance into the city's multidisciplinary Spinal Unit by collaborating with Spinal Orthopaedic Surgeons. Currently, Dr Bryant serves as a consultant and director of Synapse Neurosurgery on the Sunshine Coast. He devotes his time to educating and managing patients with neurosurgical and spinal conditions. Additionally, he remains actively involved in academic positions with Griffith and Bond Universities, attending fortnightly Spinal Meetings at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, and serving as the Secretary of the Neurosurgical Society of Queensland. Dr Bryant holds fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and is a member of esteemed professional associations such as the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia, Neurosurgical Society of Queensland, Australian Medical Association Queensland, Spine Society of Australia, and Sunshine Coast Local Medical Association.
