She later completed subspecialty training as the Ramsay Breast and Endocrine Surgical Fellow, where she developed her focus on breast cancer management and complex thyroid and parathyroid surgery. Between 2008 and 2014, Dr Stringer worked as a consultant surgeon at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Since 2009, she has been part of Brisbane Breast and Endocrine Surgeons. She currently consults and operates at the Wesley Hospital, St Vincent’s Northside Private Hospital and Northwest Private Hospital. These hospitals offer modern surgical facilities and coordinated care environments suited to breast and endocrine procedures. She regularly contributes to multidisciplinary team meetings, working with medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, geneticists and breast care nurses to guide treatment planning. Dr Stringer also supports the Wesley Breast Clinic and Breast Screen Queensland. Her academic roles include Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and Clinical Tutor at Bond and Griffith Universities. She is involved in research and has contributed to publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. Dr. Kowsalya (Kowsi) Murugappan is an Australian-trained Breast and Endocrine Surgeon with a career dedicated to the treatment of breast and endocrine conditions. She graduated from Monash University with a medical degree in 2004 and completed her General Surgical training at the Austin Hospital and Monash Health from 2006 to 2012. Her advanced training included three years of Breast and Endocrine fellowships at Nepean Hospital in Sydney, Christchurch Hospital in New Zealand, and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in Brisbane. In 2016, Dr. Murugappan commenced her role as a staff specialist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Alongside her surgical practice, she is a principal breast cancer clinical researcher with the University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research, contributing to an expanding portfolio of published studies. Her clinical interests include thyroid and parathyroid surgery, as well as breast implant-based reconstruction. She holds several key appointments, including Visiting Medical Officer with BreastScreen Queensland and Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland. Dr. Murugappan is accredited to operate at St. Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in Spring Hill, The Wesley Hospital in Auchenflower, the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in Herston, and St. Vincent’s Northside Private Hospital in Chermside. She is an active member of Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand, General Surgeons Australia, and the International Society of Surgery. Dr Russell Manley is a General, Endocrine, and Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal surgeon based in Gold Coast, Queensland. He has a particular interest in upper gastrointestinal and endocrine procedures. Dr Manley completed his Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Melbourne in 2006. He then went on to complete his internship at the Gold Coast Hospital in Southport and further training in South East Queensland. Dr Manley is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and has undergone additional specialty training in upper gastrointestinal and endocrine surgery at the Gold Coast University Hospital. Alongside his private practice, he holds the position of Deputy Director of Surgery at Robina Hospital, where he also works as a Staff Specialist. Dr Manley is passionate about education and is actively involved in training and supervising junior surgical trainees, medical staff, and students from Bond and Griffith universities. He also serves as a senior lecturer at these universities. Continually committed to advancing his knowledge, Dr Manley regularly attends conferences and conducts research to stay up-to-date on the latest clinical care and surgical techniques.
