Dr Willem Pretorius

Dr Willem Pretorius is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in knee, shoulder, and hip arthroplasty, as well as sports injuries. He has been practicing in Rockhampton since 2006, providing excellent care to his patients. Dr Pretorius completed his medical degree at The University of the Free State in 1987 and his orthopaedic training at The University of Pretoria in 1997. Afterward, he pursued an additional year of training in adult reconstruction and sports medicine at 1 Military Hospital in Pretoria.

Prior to relocating to Australia, Dr Pretorius was in private orthopaedic practice at The Willows in Pretoria from 1998 until 2005. He obtained his Fellowship in Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2007. Dr Pretorius is experienced in performing hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty, as well as shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery and reconstruction.

Currently, Dr Pretorius sees patients for consultations at the Rockhampton Hillcrest Private Hospital and Gladstone Hillcrest Specialist Centre. He accepts WorkCover patients and trauma cases, providing general advice on his patients' needs. Additionally, he has received training in robotic joint surgery and can offer this advanced technology to his patients.
