Dr Stephen Cox

Dr Stephen Cox is an exceptionally skilled Cardiologist based in Australia. He completed his cardiology training in Brisbane and further honed his expertise during a two-year stint at the Lahey Clinic in Boston, USA. Dr Cox holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Queensland, which he obtained in 1986.

With a strong focus on interventional cardiology, Dr Cox is passionate about the care and treatment of acute coronary syndrome patients, as well as structural heart disease. His broad range of skills includes acute infarct angioplasty, elective stenting, and the use of closure devices for the treatment of structural heart defects such as PFO/ASD/VSD and post-surgery paravalvular leaks.

Dr Cox is an integral part of the percutaneous aortic valve replacement (TAVR) program at GenesisCare, based at The Wesley Hospital in Brisbane. Collaborating with other GenesisCare cardiologists and the multi-disciplinary TAVR team at both The Wesley and The Princess Alexandra Hospitals, he ensures patients receive the highest quality care.

In addition to consulting at The Wesley Hospital and Clayfield in Brisbane, Dr Cox also provides outreach clinics in Kingaroy and Rockhampton. His expertise extends to serving as a senior Visiting Medical Officer in Cardiology at The Princess Alexandra Hospital.
