Miss Sharmila Balanathan

Miss Sharmila Balanathan is a highly experienced Vascular and Endovascular Transplant Surgeon, who has recently become a part of the Greater Eastern Vascular Service with Mr. Michael Bruce. Sharmila will be offering regular consultations and operating at Knox Private Hospital. With a passion for complex vascular surgery, renal transplantation, trauma surgery, and renal access surgery, she dedicates her time to both private and public practice, public-service training for future generations of surgeons, as well as philanthropic foreign aid work.

Sharmila graduated from the University of Otago in 1999 and completed her surgical training in Queensland and Victoria. With Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Vascular Surgery attained in 2011, she was also awarded the AVT travelling fellowship in Endovascular Surgery from the renowned Angiology Group in Leipzig, Germany. Apart from her contributions to the private sector, Sharmila has dedicated her skills to the public sector through appointments at Eastern Health - Box Hill Hospital, and the Austin Hospital.

Miss Balanathan's accomplishments speak for themselves, and her experience has benefited countless patients under her care.
