Mr Sher is an accomplished Australian neurosurgeon and spinal surgeon practicing in Melbourne, Victoria. His medical training includes esteemed institutions such as Royal North Shore Hospital, Royal Hobart Hospital, Monash Hospital, Monash Children's Hospital, and Austin Hospital. With extensive experience and training in both traditional and minimally invasive surgical techniques, he uses surgical adjuncts such as cranial and spinal navigation, neuromonitoring, and robotics. Mr Sher has a passionate interest in neuro-oncology, cerebrovascular disease, hydrocephalus, and degenerative disc disease research. He’s presented his research globally and won the prestigious Best Basic Science Paper Award for his post-graduate study on the role of mesenchymal precursor stem cells in disc degeneration repair at North American Spine Society’s annual meeting in Florida, USA. Mr Sher focuses on preserving motion, promoting mobility and optimizing functional outcomes for his patients, and minimizing both surgical and non-surgical complications. In addition to his work at his private practice, Mr Sher has public appointments at the Austin and Northern Hospitals. He specialises in several fields, including motion preservation spinal technologies, peripheral nerve surgery, microvascular decompression, and neuro-oncology. With his combined neurosurgical and orthopaedic spinal surgery fellowship at Austin Hospital, Mr Sher is dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care.
