Dr Ravi Mahajani

Dr Mahajani is a Darwin-born plastic and reconstructive surgeon who graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1994. He went on to pursue advanced training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, earning his fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2003. During this training, Dr Mahajani was awarded the prestigious WG Norman scholarship for his research work.

In 2005, Dr Mahajani returned to Darwin and became the first Head of Plastic Surgery at Royal Darwin Hospital. Shortly after, he founded Northern Plastic Surgery, providing a range of services in both Darwin and Gove District Hospital. He also initiated Darwin Day Surgery, a unique facility for minor procedures that includes an overnight stay.

Currently, Dr Mahajani is the Director of Darwin Day Surgery and Northern Plastic Surgery, a Senior Specialist at Royal Darwin Hospital, and a Visiting Plastic Surgeon at Darwin Private Hospital, Gove District Hospital, Alice Springs Hospital, and Darwin Day Surgery. Additionally, he holds the distinguished rank of Commander in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve.

Dr Mahajani is affiliated with numerous professional bodies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the College of Surgeons Glasgow, and the Early Management of Severe Burns program. He continues to serve as the only resident plastic surgeon at Royal Darwin, committed to delivering quality care for his patients in the Northern Territory.
