Dr Rahul Bharadwaj

Dr Rahul Bharadwaj is an experienced Psychiatrist who has been working in the field for almost two decades. He is currently practicing at Ramsay Clinic Macarthur in Campbelltown, where he is also the Medical Director of the recently established youth unit.

Dr Bharadwaj completed his psychiatric training at the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), in Chandigarh, India, before moving to Sydney in 2008 to further his career. Over the years, he has held various clinical and administrative roles within South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD), demonstrating strong leadership qualities and a passion for improving mental health services.

As the Director of Medical Services for SWSLHD's mental health service, Dr Bharadwaj made significant contributions, including the implementation of new models of care and improvements in service delivery. His expertise in the field has earned him respect from colleagues, industry peers, and most importantly, patients.

Dr Bharadwaj believes in taking a holistic approach to treatment, addressing all aspects of a patient's life that may be impacting their mental health. His deep understanding of the complexities of mental illness means he can expertly tailor individual treatment plans. Dr Rahul Bharadwaj has special interest and expertise in youth mental health and has worked with early psychosis intervention programs within South Western Sydney. He specializes in the early identification and treatment of mental illnesses in young people, including psychosis, mood disorders, and severe anxiety disorders. Additionally, he has experience working with families and carers of young people with mental illness.

Dr Bharadwaj's areas of expertise include ADHD, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, cognitive-behavioural therapy, complex trauma, depression, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), functional neurological disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorders, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, prolonged grief, psychosis, and schizophrenia.

He offers services such as opinion and report (MBS item 291), urgent assessments, Workcover provider, experience with interpreters, and is available for COVID-19 healthcare workers. Dr Bharadwaj also provides telehealth consultations.
