Dr Mark Cross

Dr Mark Cross is a Psychiatrist based in Wentworthville, Sydney, with a special interest in youth mental health, complex trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder, mental health in the workplace, women's mental health, as well as sexuality and identity issues. With over 25 years of experience, Dr Cross has a strong background in general adult psychiatry and has gained expertise through Specialist Training and consultant work in England, South Africa, and Australia.

Dr Cross is currently associated with Ramsay Clinic Macarthur and serves as a Senior Lecturer at UNSW, as well as an acting conjoint lecturer at UWS. Since his medical school days in South Africa, Dr Cross has been actively involved in HIV work and has remained dedicated to the field, participating in gay and lesbian psychiatrist groups such as the AGLP group and "Pink Shrinks." In London, he specialized in HIV psychiatry for a year, further enhancing his expertise in this area.

Not only is Dr Cross committed to providing high-quality mental health care to the LGBTI community, but he also advocates for human rights, equality, and ethics in psychiatry. He serves on the board of SANE Australia, a charity that focuses on improving the mental health of individuals with complex mental health issues and reducing stigma, particularly within the LGBTI community. From 2011 to 2016, he was a board member for BGF, an HIV charity.

Dr Cross offers a non-judgmental approach to therapy and treats a wide range of mental health issues faced by the LGBTI community. He has extensive experience in helping individuals dealing with acute mental health symptoms, as well as those seeking support for identity and sexuality concerns, sexual trauma, and depression. With a passion for reducing stigma and enhancing the quality of life for those living with mental illness, Dr Mark Cross is a trusted advocate and healthcare professional.
