Dr. Prakash Nayagam is a highly qualified medical professional with decades of experience in the field of medicine. He graduated from the prestigious University of Ceylon in Colombo before receiving training and accreditation in General and Geriatric Medicine at Guys Hospital in London, UK. After gaining the MRCP (UK), he migrated to Australia in 1990, where he was awarded the FRACP two years later. He has been practicing on the Mornington Peninsula ever since, working in both the public and private sector.
Throughout his career, Dr. Nayagam has been heavily involved in medical education and training. He has served as an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Medicine at Monash University, an IMG teacher at AMA House, and an examiner for the AMC and FRACP exams. He currently sits on the Medical Advisory Committees of three hospitals on the Mornington Peninsula. Additionally, he has served as the Chairman of the Medical Staff Association of Peninsula Health and a Committee member of the Peninsula AMA Sub-Division.
Dr. Nayagam's areas of special interest include General and Geriatric Medicine (including stroke, dementia, and Parkinson's disease), as well as Perioperative Medicine. With his extensive knowledge and experience, he is well-equipped to provide patients with compassionate and effective care.
