Dr Nerida Flannery is a female obstetrician, gynaecologist, and fertility specialist based in Buderim, a suburb in Queensland, Australia. She exclusively practices at the Buderim Private Hospital. Dr Flannery holds the esteemed title of Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and earned a Master of Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales in 2015.
Dr Flannery's medical journey began with the completion of her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery at the University of Queensland in 2002. She nurtured a strong interest in infertility and reproductive medicine, which motivated her to pursue her Master's Degree.
Prior to starting her private practice, Dr Flannery occupied senior obstetrics and gynaecology positions at the Buderim Private Hospital and Nambour General Hospital. She has also contributed as a Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Redcliffe Hospital. Furthermore, she gained valuable experience during her time as an obstetrics and gynaecology registrar at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, where she specialised in high-risk obstetric medicine, urogynaecology, adolescent gynaecology, and gynae-oncology.
With extensive clinical experience in emergency and elective gynaecological surgery and a focus on comprehensive care for inpatient and outpatient obstetric and gynaecological patients, Dr Flannery brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm to her practice.
As a dedicated clinician and a mother of two young children, she understands the importance of offering high-quality care and genuine empathy to new families and parents-to-be. Dr Flannery believes in open and clear communication to put her patients at ease. She provides candid information to help women actively participate in and understand their health and wellbeing.
Raised in Mount Isa, Dr Flannery was awarded a Queensland Health Rural Scholarship to support her studies. Over the past decade, she has called the Sunshine Coast her home, where she has dedicated herself to her work and the wellbeing of her patients.
