She received her Fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and undertook a clinical observership in functional gastrointestinal disorders in Melbourne.

Dr. Kiel is extremely dedicated to her field and has contributed to the medical community through her research and publications. She has been involved in various notable studies, some of which have been published in prestigious journals. These include "Colonoscopy in Colorectal Cancer" in Cancer Forum in 2014, "A Case of Gas Gangrene in an Immunosuppressed Crohn's Patient" in the World Journal of Gastroenterology in 2011, and "Clostridium septicum Infection Secondary to Immunosuppression by Sulfasalazine in Crohn's Disease" in the American Journal of Gastroenterology in 2008. Additionally, she has presented research on pre-liver transplant micronutrient status and its impact on post-liver transplant outcomes at the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2009.
