Dr Murad Ibrahim is a renowned respiratory, sleep, and general physician with extensive training in intensive care medicine. He serves as the Medical Director of General Medicine at Maroondah Hospital, Victoria, and is also the Medical Director of the Mitcham Sleep Centre. Dr Ibrahim is currently the chair of the Medical Advisory Committee at Maroondah Hospital and has previously been a member of the medical advisory committee at Knox Private Hospitals.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr Ibrahim is actively involved in academic and teaching roles. He has been a national examiner for the college of physicians and is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University. Dr Ibrahim is dedicated to the training and education of junior medical staff at Eastern Health.
Dr Ibrahim completed his training in respiratory and sleep medicine at Eastern Health and Austin Health. He held a public appointment at the Austin Hospital as a respiratory and sleep physician, including service at the Victorian Respiratory Support Services (VRSS), the main center for chronic ventilation in Victoria.
Dr Ibrahim's areas of interest include chronic non-invasive ventilation, in which he completed a Doctor of Medical Science degree at Melbourne University. He is an expert in the management of complex sleep disorders, including reporting of bi-level ventilation sleep studies. Dr Ibrahim's intensive care and anesthesia training have also equipped him with skills in adult resuscitation and peri-operative medicine.
