Dr Muayad Alasady is a highly esteemed Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist with vast experience in his field. He practices in Garran, Australian Capital Territory, and is affiliated with the National Capital Private Hospital. Dr Alasady holds an MBBS degree, along with numerous qualifications including a PhD in Cardiac Electrophysiology from Adelaide University in 2014. He completed a Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the University of Adelaide in 2012 and became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2008. He is also a member of the North Americans Heart Rhythm Society.
Dr Alasady's interests lie in cardiac electrophysiology, particularly the management of heart rhythm disorders using radiofrequency and other forms of ablations. He also specialises in the implantation of cardiac devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization devices, and loop recorders. Additionally, he has a special interest in sudden cardiac death.
Throughout his career, Dr Alasady has been recognized for his exceptional skills and has received several accolades. He was a finalist for the Ralph Reader Prize at the CSANZ in 2010, won the Best Paper Award at the Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society Conference in 2010, and was also a finalist for the NIMMO Prize at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 2010. Furthermore, he was honored with the Best Registrar Award at The Canberra Hospital in 2005.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Alasady is a Senior Lecturer at the Medical School of the Australian National University. He has contributed to the field of cardiology with his research and has published numerous articles in renowned scientific journals. His dedication to advancing the field has led him to focus on atrial arrhythmogenesis as a consequence of myocardial ischemia during his clinical Fellowship with a PhD program.
Dr Alasady is highly sought after by patients and colleagues due to his expertise, knowledge, and impressive track record. With a high volume of cardiac ablations and implantations, he performs between 500-600 procedures each year, showcasing his exceptional procedural skills.
