A/Prof Rajeev Kumar Pathak

A/Prof Rajeev Kumar Pathak is a distinguished cardiologist and leading expert in cardiac electrophysiology, with a primary practicing suburb in Garran, Canberra, Australia. He is affiliated with the National Capital Private Hospital.

Dr Pathak obtained his MBBS degree from Calcutta University in 2003, before pursuing his PhD at the University of Adelaide in 2015. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS) in the USA. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).

Dr Pathak is fluent in Bengali and Hindi, in addition to English. He has a special interest in cardiac electrophysiology, atrial fibrillation, sudden cardiac death, ventricular tachycardia, congenital heart arrhythmias, and channelopathies.

Parmley Award for Young Author Achievement from the American College of Cardiology in 2016, the Doctoral Research Medal for outstanding research from the University of Adelaide in 2016, and the Samuel A. Young Clinical Investigator Award, first prize, from the American Heart Association in November 2015.

Dr Pathak's research has been widely published in renowned scientific journals, and he is an active speaker at international conferences. His notable research project, "Aggressive Risk factors management in Atrial Fibrillation" (ARREST-AF), has significantly advanced the understanding of atrial fibrillation management.

Dr Pathak currently leads the electrophysiology program at The Canberra Hospital, where he provides exceptional clinical care while continuing to pioneer innovative research in the field of cardiac electrophysiology.
