A/Prof Martin Weltman

Associate Professor Martin Weltman is an accomplished Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist based in Bondi Junction, Sydney, Australia. With over 30 years of clinical experience and research in liver disorders, capsule endoscopy, reflux oesophagitis, colon cancer screening, and inflammatory bowel disease, he has established himself as a respected expert in his field.

Professor Weltman obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa in 1983. Following this, he completed advanced clinical training at renowned hospitals including Royal Hobart, St George, and Westmead Hospitals in Australia. In 1992, he earned his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Recognized for his significant research contributions, Professor Weltman was awarded a PhD from the University of Sydney in 1998 for his work on fatty liver disease. He remains actively involved in research and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.

Currently, Professor Weltman holds the position of Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Sydney. He serves as a Staff Specialist and Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at Nepean Hospital, where he provides consultations and treatment for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. Furthermore, he runs his own private clinic in Bondi Junction, catering to the needs of his patients.
