Dr Maree Sexton

Dr Maree Sexton is an experienced radiation oncologist based in Frankston, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. With over 20 years of practice, Dr Sexton specialises in the treatment of breast cancer, skin cancer, lymphoma, and palliative radiation.

Dr Sexton obtained her medical degree (MBBS) from Monash University in 1982, and she is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR). Her extensive training includes a tenure at the renowned Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute (PMCI) from 1986 to 1993.

During her time at PMCI, Dr Sexton served as a Staff Specialist in Radiation Oncology, focusing on diverse services such as Head and Neck, Neurology, Paediatric, Adolescent, Late Effects, and Breast Clinical Services. She held several important roles, including Chair of the Paediatric, Late Effects, Adolescent, and Young Adult Clinical Service from 2002 to 2005, as well as Director of the ontrac@PeterMac Adolescent Cancer Care Program from 2004 to 2005.

In addition to her local experience, Dr Sexton has expanded her oncology expertise through international placements at the Royal Marsden Hospital in the United Kingdom and the M.D. Anderson Medical Centre in Houston, Texas.

Dr Sexton joined Radiation Oncology Victoria (ROV) in 2006, and she currently consults and treats patients at Frankston Private Hospital. She also provides consultations at Dandenong and Berwick and holds admitting privileges at Beleura and Ringwood Private Hospitals.

Committed to staying at the forefront of her field, Dr Sexton maintains active memberships in several professional organizations, including the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR), the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), the Australasian College for Cancer Specialists (ACCS), and the Australasian Society of Breast Disease (ASBD).
