Dr Kevin So

Dr Kevin So is an experienced radiation oncologist specialising in the treatment of various types of cancer. He currently practices at Icon Cancer Centre Freemasons, Richmond, Mulgrave, and Moreland, located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Dr So obtained his medical degrees, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), from Monash University in 2005. Following this, he undertook specialist oncology training at Alfred Health and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. In 2015, he became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR).

With his extensive expertise in radiation therapy, Dr So is proficient in utilizing advanced techniques such as stereotactic radiation therapy (SRS/SRT/SABR/SBRT) and intensity-modulated radiation therapy/volumetric modulated arc therapy (IMRT/VMAT). His research interests primarily revolve around stereotactic radiosurgery for functional and oligometastatic diseases, as well as the utilization of advanced technology to enhance the precision and effectiveness of radiation treatment.

Dr So currently serves as the principal investigator for the TREMOR study, a phase II research project that assesses the safety and efficacy of frameless linac-based stereotactic radiosurgery for tremor management in patients with essential tremor or Parkinson's disease. Additionally, he fulfills the role of co-investigator for the SHRINC study, which investigates the use of stereotactic radiosurgery for the treatment of up to 10 brain metastases.

Furthermore, Dr So is a treating specialist at the Jreissati Family Pancreatic Centre located within Epworth, further highlighting his expertise in gastrointestinal cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer, genitourinary cancer, breast cancer, haematological, and central nervous system malignancies.
