Dr Lana Bell

Dr Lana Bell is an esteemed paediatrician who has been serving the community for over two decades. She recently took up the position of Head of the Department of Paediatrics at Joondalup Health Campus in August 2021. In addition to her role at JHC, Dr Bell also consults at Joondalup Private Hospital, where she sees patients with a range of medical issues.

Dr Bell's journey in the medical profession began at the University of Western Australia (UWA) where she obtained her undergraduate degree with honours in 1999. She was awarded the prestigious Australian Medical Association prize for the year group in recognition of her outstanding academic performance. Following her undergraduate studies, Dr Bell completed her internship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2000. She continued her studies and obtained her Diploma of Child Health two years later.

Dr Bell's efforts were recognised when she became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2009. She completed her training in the area of Paediatrics before going on to complete her Masters of Public Health at UWA, specialising in Childhood Obesity, later that same year.

Dr Bell is an experienced paediatrician in General Paediatrics and has experience in treating a wide variety of medical issues in children ranging in age from neonates to teenagers. Additionally, she is experienced in treating developmental issues and delays, including autism and ADHD. Dr Bell is particularly interested in endocrinology, nutrition, growth, obesity, type 2 diabetes and polycystic ovarian disease in children.

Dr Bell has been actively involved in research while working at Princess Margaret Hospital and Joondalup Health Campus, including participating in the Origins Project. In addition to her clinical work, Dr Bell is also passionate about improving the quality and safety of patient care. At JHC, she is currently involved in improving the discharge process. Dr Bell is committed to delivering excellent patient care and looks forward to continuing to serve the community.
