Dr Megan Byrnes

Dr Megan Byrnes is an esteemed Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (O&G) with a special focus on reproductive medicine. Based in Joondalup, Perth, she practices at Joondalup Private Hospital and runs her private practice in the same suburb. In 2002, she successfully obtained her Bachelor of Medical Science degree from the University of Sydney, followed by her Bachelor of Medicine Surgery degree in 2006. Dr Byrnes then relocated to Perth in 2008 to pursue her specialist training at King Edward Memorial Hospital and JHC.

With her extensive experience working at tertiary hospitals, Dr Byrnes has gained significant expertise in managing complex obstetric cases, particularly those complicated by medical disorders. Besides her private obstetrics practice, she offers a comprehensive range of gynaecological services, including colposcopy, minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, hysteroscopic procedures, and vaginal surgery. Her particular areas of interest encompass endometriosis, menstrual disorders, prolapse, and vulvar disease. Dr Byrnes is also the first female gynaecologist in Perth to offer the revolutionary CO2 fractionated laser treatment (Mona Lisa Touch) for vulvo-vaginal atrophy.

To further enhance her professional capabilities, Dr Byrnes completed her Masters Degree in Reproductive Medicine at the University of New South Wales. This has allowed her to broaden her expertise in the field of reproductive medicine. Currently, she is the only female fertility specialist associated with Fertility North.
