Dr Kieran Beattie is a highly skilled urological surgeon, specialising in both benign and malignant diseases of the kidney and ureter. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and is dedicated to providing his patients with empathetic, professional care.
Kieran completed his medical studies at the University of Sydney Medical School, graduating with honours in 2009. He subsequently completed a Master of Surgery degree and undertook training with the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) in 2013. Kieran was recognized for his outstanding work as a registrar, earning the prestigious George Schnitzler award in 2017. He passed his FRACS examination that same year and finished his urology training in 2019.
In addition to his clinical work, Kieran is passionate about surgical education. He has served as a USANZ trainee representative and enjoys mentoring medical students and trainee surgeons. He was recently appointed as one of two well-being officers for surgery at John Hunter Hospital, a testament to his dedication and commitment to the wellbeing of his colleagues.
Kieran has traveled to Manchester, United Kingdom, for additional fellowship training in robotic and minimally invasive surgery. He has presented his research at national and international conferences and has authored several publications.
Kieran is committed to making himself accessible and approachable to all patients, providing them with excellent surgical care. He takes great pride in overseeing the development of his trainees and supporting their professional growth.
