Dr Kenny Chan

Dr. Kenny Chan is a well qualified ophthalmologist specialising in oculoplastic surgery. Based in Norwest, Sydney, he provides comprehensive eye care services to patients with various eye conditions. Dr. Chan is a male doctor fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, apart from English.

Dr. Chan obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree with honors from the University of Melbourne in Australia in 2002. He was the recipient of the prestigious Melbourne National Scholarship. Following his graduation, Dr. Chan pursued his ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in comprehensive ophthalmology at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

To further enhance his skills and knowledge, Dr. Chan underwent subspecialty fellowship training in Oculoplastics Surgery at Liverpool in the United Kingdom and the Singapore National Eye Centre. Additionally, he completed a Graduate Diploma in Refractive Surgery at the University of Sydney, demonstrating his special interest in refractive surgery.

Dr. Chan's clinical interests lie in the management of eyelid malpositions such as ectropion, entropion, ptosis, and blepharoplasty. He also excels in performing surgical procedures for eyelid skin cancers and lacrimal surgery to address watery and sticky eyes. Furthermore, Dr. Chan specialises in orbital surgery, specifically for thyroid eye disease, malignancies, and implants. Cataract surgery is another area of expertise for him.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Chan actively engages in research and teaching. He has authored numerous papers published in local and international peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, he has presented at renowned international conferences, including the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society and the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Chan remains up-to-date with the latest techniques and technology by regularly attending international meetings.

Driven by his passion for education, Dr. Chan serves as a conjoint associate lecturer at both the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and registrars.
