Dr Anagha Vaze

Dr Anagha Vaze is a comprehensive Ophthalmologist with a specialization in Ophthalmology and a Medical Retinal Specialist. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. Dr Vaze has extensive experience in the field and is particularly skilled in the management of diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal vein occlusion, which are some of the leading causes of visual loss.

Dr Vaze obtained her medical degree in India, followed by advanced training in Ophthalmology in Australia. She completed a Medical Retina Fellowship under the supervision of Professor Mark Gillies at the Sydney Eye Hospital, where she gained expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases. Additionally, she underwent General Ophthalmology training at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide and a Medical retina Fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

As a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Sydney Eye Hospital, Dr Vaze plays an important role in the management of complex eye disorders. She is also a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney, where she contributes to medical student teaching and registrar training. Dr Vaze is an integral part of the Inherited Eye Disease Unit at the Save Sight Institute, Discipline of Ophthalmology, where she focuses on visual electrophysiology.

Dr Vaze is deeply committed to clinical research and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. She holds a higher degree in research from the University of Sydney, which she earned for her work on post-marketing surveillance of treatments for wet macular degeneration using the Fight Retinal Blindness! (FRB!) registry. She has also participated as an investigator in multiple clinical trials of new therapeutic agents for the treatment of blinding retinal conditions.

Dr Vaze is a sought-after speaker and has been invited to present at national and international conferences. Her strong research background allows her to offer the latest evidence-based medicine to her patients. She is known for her excellent patient manner and effective communication skills.
