As a specialist general internal physician with additional training in endocrinology, I have developed a versatile skillset and broad experience in all areas of endocrinology. My qualifications include a Masters in clinical epidemiology, obtained after completing training in the UK.
For 25 years, I worked in Australia, first in community practice before becoming a staff physician at John Hunter hospital - a teaching hospital for Newcastle Medical school. During my time there, I led the General Internal Medicine department for seven years before serving as the Area Director of Diabetes for the Hunter region of NSW for four years.
In 2007, I moved to Toronto where I became the Head of the Department of Endocrinology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. During my tenure, I was responsible for supporting specialist training in endocrinology in Ethiopia and Guyana through collaborations with the University of Toronto and the University of Addis Ababa, as well as the Banting & Best Guyana Diabetes Project.
After a decade in Toronto, I returned to Australia in 2017 and am currently working on the Gold Coast. With my extensive experience in general internal medicine and endocrinology, I am well equipped to handle many different aspects of healthcare.
