Dr John Howland is an experienced and competent Gynaecologist based in Everton Park, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Adelaide and is a certified specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). He specialises in pre-pregnancy counselling, management of early pregnancy bleeding, recurrent pregnancy loss and miscarriage, pre-existing and gestational diabetes, amniocentesis, medical disorders in pregnancy, twins, and vaginal birth after caesarean delivery. Dr Howland now primarily delivers at the Wesley Hospital, appreciating the well-organized environment and the presence of dedicated midwives, as well as the hospital's own cesarean theatre and special care nursery.

In the field of gynaecology, Dr Howland excels in advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, the management of cancer and abnormal Pap smears, contraceptive procedures including tubal ligation, treatment of ectopic pregnancies, endometriosis, fibroids, polyps, heavy and painful periods, hormone problems, incontinence, infertility, Mirena and Implanon insertion, Essure contraceptive device insertion, removal of misplaced Mirena and Implanon, microsurgery, ovarian cysts, pain with sex, pelvic infection, pelvic pain, polycystic ovaries (PCOS), prolapse, vulval disorders, menopause, correction of labial size, and hysterectomy.

Dr Howland personally assesses the middle cerebral artery from 34 weeks onwards to monitor placental function, as failure in this area could lead to late stillbirths.
