Dr Jeremy Stone

Dr. Jeremy Stone is a psychiatrist based in Somerville, Melbourne, Victoria. He obtained his MBBS with honors from Monash University in 1993. After completing a residency at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, he decided to specialize in Psychiatry. Dr. Stone underwent further training in Liaison Psychiatry at St Vincent's and The Alfred hospitals.

With a strong background in General Medicine, Dr. Stone brings a unique perspective to his psychiatric practice. He has been serving as a Fellow at Peninsula Health, where he has held various clinical and management roles. Since 2011, he has been seeing patients in private practice at the Optimind rooms in Main Street, Mornington.

Dr. Stone's expertise extends beyond general psychiatry. He has special interests in Complex Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Sports Psychiatry, Bipolar Disorders and Schizophrenia, Chronic Pain presentations, and Intellectual Disability. He is particularly passionate about working with patients who have schizophrenia.

Dr. Stone is associated with Beleura Private Hospital, where he admits patients to the Mental Health Unit. He also attends to patients at local private hospitals, including Peninsula Private in Frankston, when required by other specialists.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Stone has made significant pro bono contributions since his early years of training. He has been actively involved with the RANZCP Victorian Branch and currently serves as a Councillor on several committees, including the Binational Finance Committee.

In addition to English, Dr. Stone is fluent in Sinhala, allowing him to provide care to a diverse range of patients.
