Dr Timothy Chew

Dr Chew completed his undergraduate medical training in Dundee, Scotland, and subsequently pursued Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at Monash Health in 2014. In addition to his private practice, he currently serves as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Headspace Youth Early Psychosis program. Within this role, Dr Chew provides clinical services to young individuals at risk or experiencing early psychosis, emphasizing an early intervention framework of care.

His areas of expertise lie in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, youth psychiatry, and family-based therapy. Dr Chew is dedicated to helping individuals thrive and focuses on a variety of treatment approaches, including individual psychotherapy, collaborative care with psychologists and primary healthcare practitioners, as well as support within the school system.

With his extensive knowledge in transcultural psychiatry, Dr Chew is adept at communicating with patients who speak languages other than English. He is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, Hokkien, and Malay, enabling him to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Dr Chew provides services for a wide range of mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, depression, and more. He utilizes various therapeutic techniques such as mentalization-based therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and supportive psychotherapy to address the specific needs of his patients.

Dr Timothy Chew offers bulk-billing options for selected patients and is also available for shared care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment. Additionally, he provides telehealth services, allowing easy access to consultations from the comfort of your own home.
