Dr James Lawrence

Dr James Lawrence is a Sports Medicine Physician based in Sydney. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom in 2005. Dr Lawrence also holds an AMC Certificate from the Australian Medical Council, Australia, obtained in 2009. He is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians, with the title BMedSci BMBS FACSEP.

With his extensive experience and qualifications, Dr Lawrence specialises in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries. This includes injuries to tendons, muscles, and joints. He also has expertise in managing medical problems as they relate to sport and exercise. Dr Lawrence is currently the head doctor at Sydney FC, where he treats soccer injuries in players of all levels.

In addition to his work in sports medicine, Dr Lawrence has developed additional interests in altitude medicine and dance medicine. He has a particular focus on the risk determinants of acute mountain sickness and summit success during high-altitude ascents.

Dr Lawrence has been recognized for his exceptional achievements in the field of sports medicine. He was awarded the college medal for outstanding achievement in the Part 2 Fellowship Examinations in 2014.
