Dr David Muirhead

Dr David Muirhead is a psychiatrist with extensive experience across various mental health disciplines. He received his medical degree from Monash University with Honours in 1985 and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP) since 2000. With over 20 years of experience in the field of psychiatry, Dr Muirhead offers a comprehensive range of clinical services derived from working in diverse areas such as crisis assessment, community psychiatry, acute inpatient, and rehabilitation.

Throughout his public career, Dr Muirhead has held numerous leadership roles in clinical service delivery, including Director of Clinical Services for the North West Area Mental Health Service. He commands exceptional clinical experience and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of psychoses, mood disorders, anxiety disorders such as PTSD, substance use disorders, and personality disorders.

Dr Muirhead takes a multi-modal approach to treating mental health issues, providing a combination of pharmacologic and psychological interventions. He believes that this approach is the most effective for restoring his patients' well-being.
