A/Prof Yi Yang is an Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Mount Waverley, Melbourne. He specializes in the care of the spine for both children and adults. With a primary interest in spinal deformity correction, scoliosis, degenerative conditions, complex spine surgery, computer navigation, and minimally invasive techniques, Mr Yang is dedicated to providing comprehensive spine care.
During his career, Mr Yang has completed prestigious fellowships in San Diego, California, USA, and Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he focused on complex spine surgery in both pediatric and adult patients. He gained extensive experience in emerging techniques including computer navigation for spine surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, scoliosis tethering, and deformity correction.
Currently, Mr Yang holds public appointments at the Royal Children's Hospital and Royal Melbourne Hospital, exclusively treating spinal disorders such as scoliosis, degenerative spine conditions, spinal trauma, and deformities. He actively contributes to the medical community through publishing and presenting his research on spinal conditions in national and international journals and meetings. His published work includes studies on the changes in vertebral body shape with scoliosis tethering, biomechanical studies of pedicle screw insertion, and the management of spinal cord injuries.
