Melanie is an accomplished breast surgeon with more than 15 years of experience serving Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula areas. After earning her medical degree from Monash University, Melanie went on to complete her general surgery residency at the prestigious Alfred Hospital and was awarded her FRACS in 2002. Melanie's passion for breast surgery led her to undertake additional training in the United Kingdom for three years, including an Oncoplastic Fellowship at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow, where she developed expertise in the use of plastic surgical techniques to achieve the best possible oncological and aesthetic outcomes after breast surgery.
Melanie is widely regarded as a leader in her field, with a particular interest in oncoplastic breast surgery. As a highly respected instructor, Melanie is committed to educating fellow breast surgeons in Australia and New Zealand about the latest surgical techniques. She is currently Vice President of BreastSurgANZ, the premier society for treating breast disease in Australia and New Zealand, and she is also a proud member of several prestigious professional organisations, including BreastSurgANZ, the Australasian Society of Breast Disease, the Association of Breast Surgery (UK), the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine, and the AMA. In addition to her busy clinical practice, Melanie maintains hospital appointments at Peninsula Private Hospital, The Alfred Hospital, Monash Health, and BreastScreen Victoria. With her extensive training, commitment, and passion for improving the quality of life for her patients, Melanie is an invaluable asset to the medical community in her area and beyond.
