A/Prof Daniel Novakovic

Associate Professor Daniel Novakovic is an experienced medical practitioner with specialisation in voice, airway, and swallowing problems in both adults and children. He is also a well-known expert in professional voice care and runs a multidisciplinary voice clinic that caters to patients at an international standard. Dr Novakovic completed his medical degree from the University of Sydney and completed his Otolaryngology training in Australia. He then pursued postgraduate subspecialty training in Head and Neck Surgery and Laryngology in leading international centres of excellence such as the University of Toronto and the New York Centre for Voice and Swallowing Disorders. During his training, Dr Novakovic worked with world leaders in the field of Laryngology and Neurolaryngology, gaining experience in professional voice care working under the Medical director of the New York Metropolitan Opera. Upon his return to Australia, Dr Novakovic established a clinic to deliver ENT services and his subspecialties to an international standard. As an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney Faculty of Medicine and Health, Dr Novakovic is actively involved in teaching and research. He was also the director of the Doctor Liang Voice Program at the University of Sydney, helping to establish this program for education, research, and training in the field of laryngeal and voice disorders. Dr Novakovic has authored many textbook chapters and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in his field. He is also a regular speaker at international conferences, addressing audiences about his active research interests in laryngology such as the impact of HPV vaccination on laryngeal papillomatosis, wound healing after surgery and patient reported outcomes-based research. He is the current Vice President of the Laryngology Society of Australasia. Aside from his work as a medical practitioner and researcher, Dr Novakovic enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He has a wide range of interests, including skiing, kayaking, and fishing. Patients can visit him at his clinical rooms in St Leonards and Drummoyne, where he practises general ENT and his special interest in disorders of voice, airway (breathing), and swallowing. He runs multidisciplinary voice and swallow clinics in partnership with senior speech pathologists, delivering unique comprehensive care at an international standard, including the University of Sydney Voice Clinic. Additionally, he offers an emergency after-hours service for vocal performers by special arrangement.
